I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), and I work with children, adolescents, and adults ages 10 and older. My experience spans psychiatric nursing, clinical research in neuroscience and mental health, and nursing education, giving me a unique perspective on the complexities of mental health and the importance of individualized care. These experiences have shaped not only how I practice, but also how I connect with the people I care for.
I’ve always believed that one of the most important parts of mental health care is simply taking the time to listen and truly understand someone. Everyone has a story, and I believe that story matters just as much as any diagnosis. My approach is warm, honest, and collaborative. I want my patients to feel comfortable being themselves, asking questions, and having open conversations, even when the topics are difficult. You don’t need to have everything figured out before walking through my door.
My experience in psychiatric care and clinical research has given me a deep appreciation for the science behind mental health treatment, but I’ve also learned that what works for one person may not work for another. I believe in finding a balance between evidence-based care and what makes sense for each individual’s life, values, and goals. I want patients to feel like we’re working together, not that decisions are simply being made for them.
Outside of my professional life, I’m a mom of three boys, which has taught me plenty about patience, flexibility, and embracing the unexpected. I enjoy staying active, spending time with my family, and appreciating the little moments that make life meaningful.
