More About Makena Waldron

Hi, I’m Makena Waldron, and I’m currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a focus on clinical counseling. I’m a counselor-in-training who is deeply committed to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassion and care. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and throughout my academic journey, I’ve been consistently drawn to understanding the human mind and building meaningful connections that foster healing and growth.

Before beginning my graduate program, I spent two years working in pediatric behavioral therapy, specializing in autism support. That hands-on experience taught me the importance of patience, individualized care, and the value of meeting people exactly where they are. During that time, I also co-led training and development efforts for other behavior technicians, which helped me grow as both a leader and a listener—skills I bring into every therapeutic relationship.

I believe therapy should be a collaborative, empowering space where clients feel safe, heard, and respected. Whether you’re working through anxiety, life transitions, or simply looking for support, I’m here to walk alongside you with warmth and understanding. As a proud member of the Ohio Counseling Association and someone who’s passionate about continuing education, I stay informed and connected in the field so I can provide you with thoughtful, informed care every step of the way.

Note: Makena Waldron is a dedicated master’s-level student currently receiving supervision from Jeremiah Smith to provide you with the highest quality care. This collaborative approach ensures that your counseling experience is supported by a team committed to your growth and well-being. Jeremiah will be actively involved in overseeing clinical aspects of your care, including attending some sessions and reviewing diagnostic and treatment plans to ensure they are tailored to your needs. If you have any questions about this process, Makena or Jeremiah would be happy to discuss them with you. Together, they are here to support your journey.
